This year the seventh grade read “The Telltale Heart” and “The House of Usher” by Edgar Allen Poe. We are fascinated and inspired by his writing. He uses very descriptive words in just a few sentences. We were able to have a great visual picture of what is going on in the story. The seventh grade tried to copy this technique. One student wrote a few descriptive sentences while another student interpreted the sentences with a drawing. Some samples of the work are below.

Sample 6 |
![]() As I walked into this room in desperate need of a painting job and straightening up, the first thing that I saw were the walls! Pink checks all over the wall! Then, I saw the floor; well actually, I didn’t see it. There was everything imaginable on that floor: clothes and hangers. Then, I saw the bed. It was made and neat. This room was crazy!
