The 5th Grade Students were assigned a Social Studies project to collect certain facts about one of the states and told that they would use this information to created a tour of their assigned states. After gathering the information and creating the Social Studies report they came to the lab to create the tour. The first step for the students was to take a picture pointing to an imaginary object that they could use in their presentation. They then opened the picture in Fireworks and cut around their body so the background was transparent. They created a transparent GIF of themselves that they could manipulate for the tour. They collected pictures from the internet, cited the sources, and created a powerpoint. The students then saved the powerpoint slides as jpegs and inserted them in a photostory. They added narration, and effects to the photostory which enabled them to produce a little movie tour of the state. There were enough students to create a tour of 45 of the states.
