The Home and School Association (H&S) is a dedicated group of parent volunteers who continuously provide support to the students, school, faculty and staff at St. Luke’s school. Our principal serves on the Board long with parents to further assist in the integration of students, school, faculty, staff and parish. The Home and School Association organizes family-oriented events, after school enrichment activities and fundraisers.
The Services Home and School Provides:
- Child Check Volunteers
- Homeroom Parents
- Teacher Luncheons after First Friday Masses
- School Directory
- Lunch with Santa
- Santa’s Secret Shop
Home and School charges an annual fee from each family. That fee, together with the monies raised from various fundraisers, covers various expenses at the school including:
- Music Teacher’s salary (100%)
- Teacher Appreciation Gifts (Christmas and end of year)
- Printing Charges for the school directory
- Catholic School’s Week Activities
- Student Treats for Feast Day for St. Luke
- Buses for Field Day
- Support for various student activities including Reading Olympics and 8th grade graduation gifts
The group has also contributed to the funding of the following projects at the school:
- Renovations to the school gym
- New Boiler for the school
- Upper school building girl’s bathroom
- Classroom computers
- Contributions to scholarship funds for students who have lost a parent
The fundraising efforts of the Home and School Association provide an integral service to the school and community. Favorites include:
- Christmas Craft Fair (held in November)
- Penny Party (held in February)
- Kid Stuff Book Sale
