From the Principal's Pen...

Dear SLS Parents,

We are off to a great beginning!  The children look wonderful in their uniforms and they seem to have almost everything that they need to begin the year.  Thank you for having them so well prepared to return to school.

We've had only a few tears in the primary department.  There were, however, a few tears from the moms.  Needless to say, there are always those glitches that we need to work out in the beginning days.  Don't hesitate to contact me or your child's teacher should there be something that needs to be resolved.

I am listing below several reminders for you.  You might also like to check your child's classroom page for grade-specific information.  We ask your patience as we continue to update our new website.

As always, we are grateful for your cooperation.  Your support helps us to put all of our processes and procedures in good order at the beginning of the year.  Remember - no "one" of us is as smart as "all" of us together.

  Blessings,

Sister William Adele, SSJ
Principal

Reminders !

Upcoming Events

  • September 18th   Back to School Night for Kindergarten - Grade 7
Doors open at 6:30 PM to take care of Home and School business (dues, directory corrections, etc.).  The general session will begin at 7:00 PM.
  • September 25th   Back to School Night for Grade 8 - FFH
Students are to accompany their parents to this meeting and be seated with them.

Other Important Reminders

  • School Yard - Please do not bring dogs into the school yard at any time.  This is a safety issue.  There are children who are afraid of dogs even if they are not necessarily near them.
  • Morning Arrival - I again remind you that students should not be dropped off on Fairhill Avenue.  This is a regulation that is ignored by a large number of parents  Daily, I witness cars passing our school buses after they drop off their child at the intersection of Sylvania and Fairhill.
  • Dismissal Lines - The Easton Road and Roberts Avenue lines are for "walkers".  We do not have the permission of the church on Easton Road to park in their lot to pick up our students.  This is becoming very congested.  This was never intended to be a car pick-up line.
  • Car Line - If your child goes in car line, you should be parked in the yard.  We ask that you do not park on Roberts and wait at the gate  or across the street to pick them up.  The teachers are responsible for the safety of every child and keeping track of students going in all directions makes this a challenging task.  Please help us to keep the children safe.
