Important Information

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that it is finally March and the snow has stopped falling.  Not being able to be out for lunch recess for such a long time was very difficult for the children (and for our lunch moms also).  This wonderful spring-like weather is so welcome, even if rain is on the way for the second part of the week.  There are a number of important items and several reminders that I am including in this email.
I am so pleased to report the following information to you regarding our enrollment figures for the next school year.  I am sure you are aware that many Catholic elementary schools in our Archdiocese are struggling with enrollment.  We are pleased that Saint Luke’s continues to remain strong and stable for future generations of students.  We are so grateful that you are committed to providing your child(ren) with a Catholic education.

Enrollment Figures for 2010- 2011 School Year as of March 8, 2010
Kindergarten registrations – 35
New first graders – 1
New registration for other grades – one 5th grader and one 2nd grader
There are a number of interested families for other grades that are not yet finalized.
Re-registrations returned 203 of 220 families
Re-registrations not yet returned 17 families – I urge you to return your re-registrations asap.
Transfers – one student

Terra Nova Testing continues…
Students in Kindergarten, Grades 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 will be testing each morning this week.  We ask that you try to make sure your child is present each day this week.  We would like to keep absences to a minimum.

BLOCS applications deadline is April 15th.  Should you need information concerning these scholarship grants, please do not hesitate to email me and I will re-send the information to you.

Child Check Volunteers
We are in serious need for additional volunteers to do child check each morning.  We have about 8 weeks left for which we need volunteers.  If you can help with this very important safety program, you may email either Carolyn Donahue at carolyn_donahue@msn.com or Joan Voltmer at 4voltz@comcast.net for more information.

Many thanks for your cooperation in all that we do at Saint Luke School.  We are truly blessed with wonderful parents.  God bless you.

Sincerely,

Sister William Adele
