| What's new in our Technology Program this year? Brand new Windows 7 - 25 Station Computer Lab with Office 2007 We received another digital camera and video camera from our ink and cell phone recycling program this year. Keep sending them in! We received a webcam and a wireless slate from a Connelly sponsored event Crazy Talk Software - just wait to see what this does! New Photo Editing Software - Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements Four SmartBoards for classrooms and projectors United Streaming Accounts for students and teachers New Wiki's, Glogster EDU Accounts, and other Web 2.0 tools will be deployed this year. Many teachers became certified PBWorks wiki instructors this past summer and will be using the wikis in the classrooms. Google Docs, Spreadsheets, presentations and Forms used in some of the upper grade classes. Students will be able to use these from any internet connected computer and share these documents with teachers. No more worry when you run out of ink or don't have Microsoft Word at home. Free Software such as Gimp, Tux Paint and typing programs are installed in lab and will be used. This is software that can be downloaded free for home use too. Our wireless networked has been upgraded with brand new routers and connections. The Web Filter has been upgraded to a cloud solution that takes the strain from our servers and gives us the flexibility to allow and disallow sites that are appropriate for educational use. Two interactive short throw projectors have been purchased to be installed in locations that are too difficult to install regular projectors. Four more Smart Boards and two more projectors to go in classrooms this year. Looks like we are off to a great start! |
